Troubled teen boarding school athletics – homes for boys and Christian boarding schools.

Our sports program is designed to allow young people to use their interests and talents in the context of a sports team to develop ideals of self-esteem, teamwork and leadership. All of this must be guided by an overall commitment to Christian character. Residents gain confidence and learn teamwork and leadership when participating in sports. Participation in some sport is mandatory, as part of our physical education program.

Our sports teams compete against a combination of private schools, Christian schools, and homeschool associations throughout New York and Pennsylvania. Our basketball team also able competes against a number of public schools in Pennsylvania and in the Greater Finger Lakes Christian Athletic Association, with 30 or more games each season, as well as regularly attending the National Christian School Athletic Association national tournament. Our soccer teams compete in the Western New York Christian Athletic Association playing 10-15 games a season and occasionally participating in the NCSAA national tournament. Boxing team members travel to individual events around New York and Pennsylvania.

Our teams have brought home many trophies over the years, both for outstanding play and for excellent sportsmanship.

Young men may choose to participate in soccer, basketball (at both the junior varsity and varsity level) and boxing. Young ladies may choose to participate in soccer, basketball and volleyball.

Should you need help finding Christian boarding schools, residential treatment centers, schools for troubled teens or American military academies, please let us know. Teens we treat who are misbehaving could be struggling with mental or emotional issues like depression, ADHD, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, or an anxiety disorder such as post-traumatic stress or obsessive-compulsive disorder. Traditional schools are not set up to deal with these issues, so an alternative school like Freedom Academy must be found. Whether your son or daughter has turned to drug abuse, is suffering from depression or an eating disorder, or is struggling from another behavioral issue, a boarding school offers the essential structured, academic program necessary for self discovery and healing, including Christian therapeutic boarding schools, wilderness programs or emotional growth schools. Freedom Academy is a boarding school that serves troubled teenage boys and girls from the northeast, including: New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Maryland and Connecticut.
