Montana is a past resident of Freedom Academy. During her time here she transitioned from a misguided teenager to a respectable young adult. Over the course of three years she was promoted to the esteemed position of directing Freedom Academy’s Admissions Department. Our program is usually best used by parents looking for preventative intervention for a child that is consistently straying off course. Many of our children have been adopted. It is not uncommon for students to have been suspended or expelled from school or to have been arrested or even be on probation. Almost universally, they are falling seriously behind in school. Most have seriously strained family relationships. Most have used drugs (especially marijuana).
We do not accept violent students. Most of our students have some sort of psychiatric label – ADD/ADHD, ODD, OCD, RAD, PTSD, etc. We have successfully worked with young people who are on the Autism spectrum (Aspergers) as long as they have the potential to be self-sufficient and not reliant on psychiatric medication. We are not equipped to handle young people who are dependent on psychiatric medication for daily functioning.

Steps to Enrolling Your Child
In order to begin the intake process, you may either call me at 1-800-VICTORY (800-842-8679) or submit the online contact form. I will be sure to contact you promptly and discuss your situation.
Once you make initial contact with us, we will begin the intake process. This process helps us determine a young person’s suitability for our school.
After gathering some initial information, either through a phone call or the online form, we will set up a brief phone interview with the prospective student. This allows us to let them know what to expect and help answer any questions in order to make the idea of a transition easier.
Once it is determined that a prospective student is a good candidate, we will go over pertinent details with you, including financial details and coming to a financial agreement.
As the parent/guardian of the child, you will then be asked to fax or email a copy of an identifying document – a Birth Certificate or Passport (if not a U.S. Citizen).
** It is important to note that, while we will do as much as we can to determine whether or not a young person is a good potential candidate for our school, an intake interview is not a guarantee of acceptance. Limited circumstances (most importantly, a student’s attitude) may prompt rejection of any prospective student.
Typically, domestic students can be enrolled quite quickly. International students require time for the processing of student visa paperwork. Certain medical issues may require a longer wait period for proper review of the application.
Families are asked to commit to one year of their child in residence in our program. To be effective we require at least one year to work with each student. After a year, we evaluate the student’s progress with the family and make a decision whether or not to continue the student in residence. The program may continue after that for as long as is beneficial for the young person and financially feasible for the family.
